After 4 yrs long training and hard work in the seminary.. Finally Richard Withers was ordained as a Deacon in St Mary's RC Church, Newport on 16th July, 2011. It was a grand ceremony along with all the diocesan priest, his family and the Archbishop. The ceremony was celebrated by several priests including Fr. John Kelly, Fr Gareth Leyshon, Canon Peter Collins, Fr Edmund Neizer and Arch Bishop George Stack..The DST team gives Richard their blessings in his new ministry.View photos of the event here..---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sr Maria, Missionary of Charity, Dowlais, - Youth actvities Sr Maria, Missionary of Charity, Dowlais, need help with their youth programme, starting this week. They are holding daily meeting with the children of the area for around 2 hours per day. Monday to Fridays, from 25th July to 16th August 2011. The scheduled times are 3 till 5pm. The children' ages range from 13 to 22, some even younger. They will be divided into two groups and various activities etc... will be run. Combining Mother Teresa's Charisms and teachings combined with Pope John Paul's II teaching on the Theology of the Body, for the older children. Some of their activities may include:- Prayer, Adoration, Talks and discussion groups, Sports and Games. If you know of anyone involved with youth ministry or someone who would like to help them or youth that would like to attend then please contact them and let them know we sent you this information. They are also planning to attend Walsingham Youth 2000 for 16+ age groups which is in August. They are planning a minibus/ coach for this. Again if you know someone who may be interested please let them know.
