An invitation to be part of a “Couples for Christ” Household (and you don’t have to be married!)
Couples for Christ (CFC) is a global movement of Catholics who meet
in “Households” for regular prayer. It began for married couples but
expanded into a full family ministry that includes Singles for Christ
(SFC) Youth for Christ (YFC), and Kids for Christ (KFC), all pursuing a
shared calling to form “Families in the Holy Spirit, Renewing the Face
of the Earth”.
A “Household” is a gathering of members for prayer
and sharing, ending in a shared meal, and rotates around members’
homes. The Household is comprised of couples, singles, the widowed and
separated. As a community of families, children of all ages attend
together with their parents, so they tend to meet early in the evenings.
Adults who wish to belong to a Household are invited to take part in a
weekend of spiritual preparation called a Christian Life Programme,
which includes talks, group discussion, shared prayer and Mass.
If
you live in the Cardiff, Pontypridd or Merthyr Tydfil areas, and think
this might be for you, you are invited to a “taster” Household meeting
at St Dyfrig’s Presbytery, Pontypridd, on Monday 23rd July at 6 p.m. –
children of all ages are welcome, accompanied by their parent(s), and a
meal will be provided. Those who wish to go ahead and take part in the
Christian Life Programme will have an opportunity to do so on the
weekend of August 17th to 19th, also at St Dyfrig’s. The location of any
ongoing Households will be determined by the members that join
following the CLP.
For further information about the taster
Household and the Christian Life Programme, contact the Haran family
